Five new COVID-19 cases in Sudbury on Saturday

Public Health Sudbury and Districts marked an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in its service area on Saturday, reporting five new cases and no resolved cases since Friday.

PHSD had 25 active cases as of 4 p.m., according to the health unit. Fourteen of those, including all five new cases, were in Greater Sudbury, while 11 were in the Sudbury District and none in the Manitoulin District.

Four cases were classed as close contacts of confirmed cases, while one other had no known epidemiological link. One recent case screened positive for a variant of concern.
